The Army Bomb Disposal Team have made safe a viable device in Dublin this afternoon.

The suspect device was found outside a private residence in the Macroom Road area of Coolock.

A cordon and road closures were put in place and a number of nearby houses were evacuated.

The device was made safe at 2:30pm and was later confirmed as viable.

Gardaí are now investigating.
