The Army Bomb Disposal Team was called in to deal with an improvised bomb that was found in north Dublin this morning.
Gardaí requested assistance after a suspect device was found during a planned search of a home in the Deanstown area in Finglas.
The bomb disposal team arrived at the scene at 10am today and found that the device was viable.
The improvised explosive device was made safe and was then removed to a military location for deconstruction. The scene was declared safe at 10.30am.
Defence Forces say any evidence will be handed over to the Gardaí to assist them with their investigation.
