The latest victim of violent crime in Ireland was wearing a bulletproof vest when he died.
The man in his forties has been named locally as Michael Devoy of Balbutcher drive, Poppintree, Ballymun.
He was fatally shot in the neck on the Foxhill Road in Tallaght in Dublin last night.
