The deceased victims of the Magdalene Laundries will be remembered today at a special ceremony at Glasnevin Cemetery in Dublin. 

A recently published report into the Magdalene Laundries found direct State involvment in the institutions.

Taoiseach Enda Kenny has already apologised to survivors on behalf of the State calling their treatment 'a national shame'.

Efforts are now underway to secure adequate compensation payments for the survivors.
