Shoppers on O'Connell Street and Grafton Street in Dublin will be confronted with the carcasses of skinned foxes today by anti-fur protesters.
Animal rights' group ARAN will be telling the public there is 'nothing fashionable' about wearing dead bodies.
They claim designers such as Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger have publicly sworn off fur because it is cruel.
Ireland currently has five fur farms, housing over 200,000 animals.
ARAN says animals are confined to cramped, filthy cages before they are beaten, gassed or anally electrocuted - and sometimes skinned while they are still alive.
ARAN spokesman is John Carmody. He denies that the fur market is a simple case of supply and demand.
ARAN undertook an investigation in 2011 and posted their findings on YouTube.
