In the contest over which Christmas advert can tug most firmly at your heartstrings, Apple has just entered the fray. Penguins, WWI and James Vincent McMorrow have all been pushed aside, with the American technology giant getting in on the holiday action.
After last year’s ‘The Misunderstanding’ claimed Apple an Emmy award, 2014’s ‘The Song’ has already been an overnight viral hit with viewers all over the world since its debut yesterday.
The 90-second short see Apple’s iPad Mini 3 transcending generations as a granddaughter uses it to create a touching duet of an old record featuring her grandmother, Valerie, crooning the old jazz standard 'Love is Here to Stay' to the teen's grandfather in 1952.
As the older woman relives the memories listening to the song conjures up, it'll take a cold heart not to feel the emotional tug. Check out the touching advert below:
