Keywest fan, Cliff Henry, enlisted the help of the Dublin band to help him propose to his childhood sweetheart Fiona O' Hehir.
The band agreed and arranged to stage the elaborate proposal on Killiney Hill on Fiona’s 30th birthday on October 29th.
As luck would have it, as Cliff and co were setting up they bumped into Bono, who jokingly offered up some words of wisdom for the unsuspecting Fiona: “Don’t do it!”
Ever the poet, the U2 frontman, who had his arm around his wife Ali, then compared getting married to “jumping off Killiney hill and realising you can fly.”
