Anyone's who's tried their hand at fishing will know the delight of actually catching something - the utter amazement that somehow, a fish fell for your bait and you successfully reeled him in.

So we can hardly blame this (apparently Russian) man for celebrating his catch at a frozen lake a little too early.

Already tasting a hearty dinner, he turns his back just long enough for the determined fish to flop back into the hole, dragging the rod with it.

Bowed and beaten, the fisherman can only gaze into the hole and wonder what might have been.
