The RNLI today remembered those who have lost their lives at sea.
A ceremony took place at midday, at the end of the East Pier, in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin.
The traditional event, remembers 15 volunteers that died in service on Christmas Eve in 1895 in Blackrock.

The volunteers boat capsized in gale force winds while attempting to rescue those on board the SS Palme that had run aground off Blackrock, Co Dublin.
All lives lost at sea are also remembered in the ceremony.
