Three students from Cork say it is an honour to make it onto Time magazine's list of most influential teens.
They made the cut alongside recent Nobel Peace Prize winner, Malala Yousefzai.
Ciara Judge (16), Emer Hickey and Sophie Healy-Thow (both 17) have been named among the 25 most influential teenagers in the world.
The girls from Kinsale Community College scooped the top prize at the Google Science Fair in California last month.
The trio won the competition's 15-16 age category, as well as the Grand Prize.
As part of their winning research, they investigated the use of natural bacteria to assist food production by increasing crop output.
The girls won a 10-day trip to the Galapagos Islands, a US$50,000 scholarship from Google and the chance to participate in astronaut training at the Virgin Galactic Spaceport in the Mojave Desert.
Ciara, Emer and Sophie explain thier project here:
Others on the list include US President Obama's daughters Sasha and Malia, Modern Family actor Rico Rodriguez and New Zealand singer Lorde.
