Bob Geldof's charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" has claimed another historic first tonight.

Band Aid 30's version of the song to raise money to fight Ebola in west Africa became the first video to be screened on the Palace of Westminster.

The song featuring One Direction, Bono and Ed Sheeran has already become the fastest-selling single this year.

It goes on sale in record shops in the morning.

Mr Geldof has previously defended the new single by claiming his detractors are "talking bollocks".

Given the success of Band Aid in the 80s, Mr Geldof decided it was an opportune time to unite the best musicians working today for Band Aid 30.

In order to reflect the current times we live in, the lyrics have been altered slightly but the video is as emotional as the last one.
