Video footage has emerged of the moments after two young women were arrested in Peru on suspicion of drug trafficking.
Melissa Reid, 19, from Scotland, and Michaella McCollum-Connolly, 20, from Dungannon in Co. Tyrone were arrested in Lima a week ago while trying to board a flight to Madrid.
Ms. McCollum-Connolly holds an Irish passport.
The National Police of Peru said they found more than 5.5 kilos of cocaine thought to be worth around €1.7 million hidden in food in the luggage of the two women.
In the online video Ms. Reid is questioned by a police interviewer and is heard to say "I was forced to take these bags in my luggage."
When asked if she knew they contained drugs, the 19-year-old from Lenzie in East Dunbartonshire said "I did not know that."
Ms. Reid and Ms. McCollum-Connolly both left home for separate holidays in Ibiza earlier this summer.
The Archbishop of Lima has visited Michaella McCollum Connolly in jail in Peru. Archbishop Sean Walsh told the Irish Independent he believes Michaella and Melissa were set up.
Amnesty International says the women could be in jail for up to 18 months, while they wait for their trial to come up.
Here is a video taken shortly after Michaella and fellow-accused Melissa Reid (19) were swooped on by Peruvian authorities.
Michaella had been working in Ibiza as an occasional niteclub hostess when she went missing last month. She now faces up to 25 years in a Peruvian jail.
Michael Russell, Ireland's former honourary consul in Lima until last month, has said he thinks it's likely the girls were set up. Mr. Russell claimed the speed at which the authorities acted in these cases sometimes indicates they are watching a marked bag, or have been tipped off by a third party.
Details about Michaella's upcoming trial are expected to emerge shortly.
