Taking inspiration from Pixar's Up, a group of creative 'hackers' recently decided to build a house of their own to send into the sky using only the power of balloons. They opted for a more realistic scale, though, using a small model of a house instead of an entire building.
More impressive is how they documented the process. Equipping the model with a camera and tiny Raspberry Pi computer, the Hackerloop team programmed the 'house' to take photos and upload them to Instagram from the air. The 'hack' here is that this was achieved without using Instagram's official mobile apps.
As the Hyperloop co-founder explains on their website, "it's not about hacking Instagram, it's about using it to build something that we were convinced would be awesome! Creativity is also about pushing existing tools further, in a way they weren’t initially designed for."
