Launch parties, book tours and an appearance on The Late Late Show are all pretty standard ways of promoting your new book.
Escape artist Anthony Martin decided to jump out of a plane locked inside a giant wooden coffin.
The Wisconsin-born 47-year-old managed to free himself from the coffin as it fell at a speed of 206 km/h from 4,419 metres before landing softly in a field in Illinois, about 110 miles south west of Chicago.
Martin has previously escaped from a steel cage beneath a layer of ice in a water-filled quarry, being bured alive under 907 kilograms of sand and leaping over a canyon while shackled.
The skydive was a recreation of a similar stunt he pulled in 2010.
His book Escape or Die: An Escape Artist Unlocks the Secret to Cheating Death was released in July.
