National Geographic is known for its photographic brilliance and insightful documentaries, and now it can add an engineering feather to its cap - the channel has created a Rube Goldberg machine on a massive scale.
The colossal contraption, a chain reaction filmed during one take, uses nine globes, three tyres, one VW Beetle, bowling pins and 71 other moving pieces all adding up to four tonnes in weight. It’s a thing of beauty, and all perfectly aligned and wrapped up in a minute.
