Serial ended its first season this week, after spending twelve episodes exploring a real-life murder and subsequent trial in thorough detail.

Fans will have to wait until sometime in 2015 for the second season of the hit podcast. In the meantime, Saturday Night Live have offered up a sketch that affectionately skews the tone and presentation of the This American Life spin-off.

'Christmas Serial' sees Sarah Koenig (here played by a pitch-perfect Cecily Strong) attempting to investigate one of the biggest mysteries of them all - the mystery of a one Kris Kindle. Amy Adams makes a cameo as a suspicious mother.
