An usually rare solar phenomenon has occurred in Mongolia creating an illusion of three suns rising in the sky.

The images in the video below show the sun in the centre, flanked on either side by reflections. The phenomenon is called the anthelion, and happens when light travelling in the sky passes through ice crystals in the air.

The rare weather anomaly can only take place when the temperature is lower than -30 degrees Celsius, and when the air if filled with icy water vapour.
