On Monday, Russell Brand campaigned with residents of New Era Estate outside 10 Downing Street.

The estate, which had been family owned for over 80 years, was recently sold to American investors, who plan to raise rents to market level, effectively tripling them.

Irish Channel 4 reporter Paraic O'Brien spoke to Brand, and asked whether rich people like himself are part of the reason housing problems like these exist in the city.

Brand was none too pleased, calling O'Brien a "snide" and saying that thankfully he can afford his rent, and he's "prepared to stand up for people who can't."
