The Gathering tourism initiative is hailing its success.
It's just been announced at the Global Irish Economic Forum, where the initiative was born two years ago, that by the end of August tourist numbers were up by 291,000.
5,000 gatherings were organised and the Tourism Minister says he's confident the target of 325,000 extra visitors will be met.
