Former Irish President Mary Robinson issued a stark environmental warning at a conference in Dublin today.

She said that the world needs to be 'zero carbon' by 2050 if more islands and cities are to escape the devastation of flooding.

"The world has to move to zero carbon and we all have to do it hopefully by 2050 or as close to that as we can because otherwise we will not be below 2 degrees Celsius," Mrs Robinson said at the One Young World conference at the Convention Centre.
