Irish singer-songwriter Hozier and rock group U2 have been nominated for a Grammy.
Hozier was named on the shortlist for song of the year for his hit 'Take Me to Church', while U2's 'Songs of Innocence' album - originally released for free to iTunes users - is up for best rock album.
Beyoncé, Sam Smith and Pharrell Williams top the nominations with six each.
The nominations were announced through social media by various celebrities, such as this one by actor Jared Leto:

While Hozier saw their nomination come from Troye Sivan:

Other nominations include Taylor Swift for best pop solo performence and Ed Sheeran for best pop vocal album.
The awards take place on Sunday February 8th.
