A video of a protester feigning injury while protesting a water meter installation in Bailieborough, Cavan has gone viral.

The man, who appears to be obstructing a truck is approached by Gardai, dives to the ground when touched, with two other protesters claiming he requires an ambulance.

The video was uploaded with the description "Appalling violence used on the young lad."

The video was uploaded to the Facebook page 'Balieborough against water charges' and later removed. The page administrator later posted a message saying, "...if all people can do is cling on to one persons actions, which may be deemed as unreasonable, and tar us all with the same brush I think that’s a disgrace and a shame we are PEACEFUL protest. Do not judge us all."
