The Basílica i Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família is considered one of the most unique buildings in the world. It has already received the status of a UNESCO World Heritage site - and it's not even finished yet.
The cathedral - a radical interpretation of traditional Gothic architecture - was the passion project of designer Antoni Gaudí. Although his work on the project began in 1883 (a year after construction started) it was barely a quarter finished when Guadí died in 1926. The subsequent nine decades have seen work on the building stop and start repeatedly, including a major interruption during the Spanish Civil War. The project has also faced criticism, including from some architects who believe the construction has deviated from Gaudí's design.
The end could be in sight, however, even if it's still over a decade away. Authorities are aiming to have the building finally completed by 2026, the centenary of Gaudí's death. Although some projections suggest it could be at least 2028 before it is actually finished, the current team behind the project have released a video showing what they hope the extravagant church will look like in 13 years.
