We hate to break it to you, but we - as Jon Bovi once sang in that horrible but catchy song - "ain't going to live forever". Many current citizens of planet Earth have been lucky enough to witness some very unique events: a moon landing, a new millenium, maybe even Halley's Comet.

But it's best to just accept that there are some absolutely spectacular things you aren't going to see, unless scientists prove their worth and invent some sort of downloadable consciousness or something. Still, given the nature of human mortality, it's unlikely anyone reading this will be lucky enough to see the year 3,000, let alone good old 3,500,000,000 AD. Don't feel too bad, though, as odds are humanity won't even make it that far - you can count on either our own bad habits or good old nature to take care of that.

This means we're going to miss some stuff. Sorry for the downer, but that's just the way it is. From some stunning - and potentially catastrophic - astrological events to some more modest feats of human achievement (advance word is James Bond 137 will be wonderful), the future will offer no shortage of amazing sights you won't see. So you might as well ruin the surprise (spoilers ahoy).

YouTube user Vsauce has kindly put together a video describing some of these future wonders so we at least know what we're going to miss:
