A post mortem is due to be carried out later on the body of Chloe Kinsella.

Yesterday divers from the Limerick Marine Search and Rescue Service recovered the remains of the 15-year-old from the River Shannon.

The Limerick teen went missing from her home in Killeely last Saturday night.

Her body was found at Brown's Quay in the Thomondgate area not far from her home.

Her body was brought to Limerick University Hospital, while a large area around the banks of the River Shannon was cordoned off following the discovery.

Expert dog units had been drafted in to help with the search operation and guards had also been examining her mobile phone for clues.

Her body was positively identified by her sister yesterday, who later thanked those who took part in the search operation during an emotional speech.
