Vine was officially launched by Twitter last Wednesday.

The app describes itself as “the best way to see and share life in motion.”

Users can create a straight six second shot or several shots not surpassing the six second limit.

The video includes sound and loops to the beginning again once it has ended.

Concerns have been raised about the moderation of videos uploaded. Porn surfaced on Twitter as a result of Vine last week.

Apple said, “We’ve asked the developers to put safeguards in place to prevent pornographic images and material in their app."

Your videos can be easily shared on your Vine, Facebook and Twitter feeds with the touch of a button.

This notion of citizen journalism is becoming increasingly more prevalent in online social media with the emergence of Vine, which technology fans are calling the Instagram of video.

Everyday people now have the ability to take still pictures and short video clips that can be uploaded and shared onto Facebook and Twitter without heavy editing in seconds.

Vine is available for free from the Apple app store.
