Voter turnout across the country has been strong with polls set to close at 10pm.
Nationally turnout looks to be slightly ahead of the last general election when 65% of people voted.
Approaching the close of polls on the first Saturday general election in more than 100 years and it appears turnout is slightly up.
Across the Dublin County constituencies, turnout is over 60% with turnout in the city also reported as high.
It's above 50% per cent across both Galway constituencies while Louth had turnout tipping above 50% just after dinnertime
Cavan Monaghan is also heading towards 60% in the last hour
Generally, across the country, a strong morning of turnout became a steady stream of people through the day.
An exit poll will be published when polls close in an hour's time which will give us the first indication of how Ireland has voted in election 2020.
