RTÉ is warning the public about a fake 'Toy Show' text message scam.
The message claims the recipient has won tickets to 'The Late Late Toy Show' and then asks them to call a premium rate number to collect them.
The State broadcaster says there are no tickets for 'The Late Late Toy Show' available by this method and these text messages are not from RTÉ.
A first text reportedly gives the receiver a premium rate number to call to collect the non-existent tickets.
While the second would contain a link to a website asking the person to register and to enter payment details to cover courier fees.
'Do not respond to messages'
RTÉ is urging the public not to respond to these text messages.
This year's show will be broadcast on November 30th at 9:35pm hosted by Ryan Tubridy.
Speaking about the show this year Tubridy said “This is my favourite show of the season and I’m really excited about what we have planned this year".
"It’s the kids who are the stars of the show and we have been auditioning children from all around the country to ensure we have the best toy testers and performers guaranteed to steal the hearts of viewers" he added.
