Roads across the country are said to be treacherous this morning - as temperatures plummeted to as low as minus 6 degrees in some parts last night.
Motorists are being warned to slow down and to watch out for black ice.
However, Met Eireann is forecasting that conditions will begin to get milder from Thursday.
