With flights to Europe as cheap as chips, you'd be forgiven for assuming that everyone in Ireland has taken a weekend break via Ryanair at some point.

But until recently, 57-year-old Michael Carville from Newry had never been on board a plane in his life. 

His daughter Michelle thought it was worth recording the momentous event that was his first flight, and has uploaded this remarkable video of the father's reaction to take-off.
