Arcade Fire and the Preservational Hall Jazz Band in New Orleans organised a tribute on the streets of the city to the late David Bowie.

Both groups of musicians came together to organise the event, which encouraged people to take to the streets in their best David Bowie costumes to celebrate the life and music of the singer.

Bowie appeared on the band's album Reflektor, providing guest vocals on the title track, and they joked afterwards that the legendary musician had threatened to steal the song if they didn't hurry up and mix it.

Win Butler and Régine Chassagne of Arcade Fire lead a version of Heroes during the parade, while earlier in the week, fans turned out in their droves to pay tribute to him outside his childhood home in Brixton
