It seems even some of Ireland's politicians can't escape being nominated in the Ice Bucket Challenge.
The latest social media trend has seen thousands of celebrities and politicians dunk buckets of ice cold water over their heads in aid of the Irish Neuron Motor Disease Association.
Former Taoiseach Bertie Ahern, former Green Party TD Paul Gogarty and Tipperary South TD Mattie McGrath are just some of the politicians who have taken to their social media accounts to post their show of support for the cause.
But up first is the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Christy Burke, who took the challenge with several kids who seemed more than happy to dunk some ice cold water over him:
Next up was Bertie Ahern, who was nominated by his daughter and author Cecelia Ahern:

Then we saw politician-turned-musician Paul Gogarty take part and nominate businessmen Denis O'Brien and Ryanair's Michael O'Leary:

Willie O'Dea has no actual video online but it seems he did accept his nomination by party colleague Kevin Sheahan:

TD Ciara Conway also accepted the challenge and nominated a number of her Dáil colleagues:

Independent TD Mattie McGrath took the challenge head on and even used a digger instead of a bucket to do the dunking:

And Labour's Michael McCarthy happily accepted fellow party member Ciara Conway's nomination to take part:

While Fianna Fáil TD Niall Collins claims to have participated, but proof is yet to surface online.
