Police in London are appealing for information after a man was assaulted by two other men.

But it didn't quite go to plan for the assailants.

The Metropolitan Police say the owner of a motorbike was attacked, while the other men tried to steal it.

Video released of the incident in Croydon shows one man waving a weapon at the victim.

The other man heads for their getaway vehicle - another motorbike.

But then the victim over-powers the first attacker, and appears to pin him against a car.

Another person then comes to the victim's assistance to control the situation.

But as the second attacker tries to help his accomplice, the victim flings the first man into the second.

As they stumble backwards, the two assailants appear to leave the scene by foot.

But they also leave their getaway bike behind.
