Is it a bird? Is it a plane? Is it a scene from the popular motion picture Up?
The unusual sight above Calgary in a Canada on Sunday was actually none of the above. A local man took to the skies above the city after attaching more than 100 helium-filled balloons to a deck chair.
As part of a publicity stunt for his cleaning company, Dan Boria climbed a considerable distance before parachuting to safety.
The 26-year-old told the Calgary Sun, "the winds were pretty fierce up there, no doubt... the winds were so strong, it pushed me back. I jumped out of the chair and landed about a mile away the grounds.
“I can’t specify the altitude I went to. I was looking down at a 747, it was a surreal experience," he added.
Predictably, the colourful stunt also caught the attention of local authorities, and Mr Boria was charged with mischief causing danger to life before being released on bail.
It was not a cheap thrill either, with the helium and balloons setting him back $13,300 (around €9,500) - but at least the chair was only $20.
