Both Jon Stewart and David Letterman have been in a state of semi-retirement lately, with their piercingly intelligent brands of comedy being missed from television.

The two legends appeared as part of an event for the US Armed Forces last night, alongside Barack and Michelle Obama, as well as vice-president Joe Biden and his wife Jill.  

There's no word of Letterman making any kind of return to show business as of yet, but Stewart is set to return to HBO with his new show, apparently just in time to tackle the impending U.S. election.
