Fine Gael's Helen McEntee awaits to be elected to full the seat vacated by her father. 

She polled 1,300 votes more than Fianna Fáil's Thomas Byrne on the first count. 

It's a bad day for Labour who finished in fifth place on first preferences behind Sinn Féin and Direct Democracy Ireland.
