Footage has emerged of an elderly man defending himself against a thief, who tried to mug him at an ATM in the UK.
The 77-year-old was using a cash machine outside a Sainsbury's supermarket in Cardiff in the early hours of Wednesday, February 5th.
As he leaves the cash machine, the thief appears from the corner of the security footage.
It shows he was approached by an unknown white man who demanded his cash and bank card.
But the man fought back, holding the robber in a shoulder lock before throwing several punches.
Police say the man "bravely" fought off the suspect who left the scene empty handed.
South Wales Police Detective Constable Stephen Mayne said the victim showed great bravery but was left shaken.
He asked anyone with information to contact police.
The suspect was carrying a black rucksack and was wearing a high-vis vest and black hat with a white motif on the front.
