After the one-two punch of Drive and Crazy, Stupid, Love in 2011, it feels like Ryan Gosling has been off-the-boil lately.
The likes of Only God Forgives and Gangster Squad didn't quite hit the mark the way they were expected to, and he actually had a two-year hiatus between projects from 2013 to 2015.
Then earlier this year we seen the first step of his comeback with the Oscar-nominated The Big Short, and he's going to follow it up this summer with The Nice Guys, the new trailer for which has just landed online.
Gosling plays a fast-talking private detective who teams up with Russell Crowe's hard-hitting heavy to find the daughter of a local politician, and pretty soon, they find themselves over their heads in double-crosses and multiple murders.
From the same writer/director as the similarly themed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, it certainly helps paint Gosling in a new, more comedic light, and he'll soon be back for jazz-musical La La Land from the director of Whiplash, before taking the lead in the long-delayed sequel to Blade Runner.
For now, you can check out the new trailer for The Nice Guys below, and the movie will arrive in Irish cinemas on June 3rd:
