After months of speculation, some heavy-handed hinting, and a lot of promotion, the hotly-anticipated video for Sam smith’s Bond theme Writing’s on the Wall has been released.
Complete with footage from the new film, Spectre, the young British singer sheds a tear while walking though Rome in a video directed by Luke Monaghan. Footage of Smith, dressed in a black suit while warbling the song, is intercut with scenes from the new film, set for release on October 26th, that show Daniel Craig and French-Italian actress Monica Bellucci locked in a passionate embrace.
The official video was released on YouTube on Sunday morning, coinciding with the ‘Global James Bond Day’, a date celebrated by fans of the British superspy series that commemorate the official release date of the first theatrical Bond film in 1962, Dr No.
According to Billboard, Smith's song is the first Bond theme song to ever hit number one on the UK singles sales chart. You can watch the video below:
