It's been over twelve years since Sarah Jessica Parker left behind Sex & The City and the hit show on HBO (if you don't count the movies, which you probably shouldn't).

Following several big screen outings, SJP is returning to the small screen, and also returning to HBO, with her new show Divorce. 

Written by Irish comedian Sharon Horgan (who you should know from Catastrophe), it stars Parker and Thomas Hayden Church (Sideways) as a couple who decide to break up, and over the course of the ten episodes, how that decision ultimately effects their lives.

From the first footage that has been released in the video below, it looks much darker than SJP's last foray into TV land, and much closer to the bracing honesty of Horgan's own Catastrophe.

No set release date yet, but Divorce is due to arrive on HBO this Autumn.
