In case you didn't know, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens did pretty well, both critically and commercially.
In fact, one of the few complaints leveled at the movie was the fact that sometimes it felt more like a remake of A New Hope, rather than a full-on sequel.
From the important message hidden inside a droid, which gets lost on a desert planet, a parent-less hero who finds they're strong with the force, and a big bad plan involving a giant circular planet destroying machine... There's certainly plenty of similarities to be found.
With the movie due for home-release from April 18th, editor Zachary Antell has done a side-by-side visual comparison of the two movies to show just how many shot-for-shot references can be found in the sequel.
