After a three-hour debate last night, the government won a motion of confidence in itself - but it was a certain Fine Gael TD from Mayo who came out of the 'ring' fighting on behalf of his party.
Enda Kenny's rival constituent took the opportunity to lash out at Fianna Fáil's Micheál Martin and Niall Collins, when the latter called for transcripts of evidence to the Fennelly Commission - which investigated the taping of non-999 calls to Garda stations - be made public.
Sports minister Ring took to his feet and loudly claimed that all the Opposition party ever did when they were in power was "stand over every scandal and ask for another report."
But he didn't stop there...
