For the most part, The Lonely Island are best known for the comedy-rap albums, spawning hit singles such as "I'm On A Boat" featuring T-Pain or "Jack Sparrow" featuring Michael Bolton.
They also released the little seen gem Hot Rod back in 2007, while Andy Samberg has found new acclaim with his leading role in award-winning sit-com Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The trio have reunited this year to release a new movie - Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping - and have just put out the movie's first trailer, which is very NSFW.
Clearly based on a certain love-to-hate male popstar, it shows the fall from grace of Connor4Real (Samberg) after his second album flops spectacularly.
Produced by Judd Apatow (Bridesmaids, Trainwreck) and co-starring Sarah Silverman, Imogen Poots, Martin Sheen, Bill Hader and Will Forte, as well as Zoolander-esque conveyor belt of celebrity cameos (Is that P!nk on a unicorn?), this should do for the music industry what Anchorman did for the news.
Currently set for a U.S. release of June 3rd, there is no set Irish cinema date as of yet.
