Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Donald Trump for Christmas on the final episode of this season of 'Saturday Night Live'.

Russia was in the news again this week after President Obama vowed to retaliate against the country for cyber-attacks it carried out during the presidential election - something that did not go unnoticed by the cast.

The cold open sees Trump, played by Alec Baldwin, receive a visit from Putin, played by Beck Bennett. John Goodman plays the President-elect's pick for Secretary of State Rex Tillerson.

“Vladimir, I did not know you were coming so I do not have a gift for you,” Trump says.

“Please Mr. Trump, you are the gift,” Putin responds.

Tillerson's close relationship with Putin is also up for mocking, with Goodman repeatedly referring to him as "Pootie".
