The mannequin challenge has seen people and businesses demonstrate how they can freeze in front of a camera.
But one police force in Britain has used it to highlight the dangers of using your phone while driving.
West Yorkshire Police used their training facility in Wakefield to produce a minute long video, reinforcing a message for safe motoring.
They say it is part of the 'Fatal 4' campaign.
The campaign aims to highlight the four major causes of road traffic collisions: inappropriate speed, drink/drug driving, not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones.
Here, the Road Safety Authority (RSA) say your mobile phone makes you four times more likely to crash.
It also says that driver distraction plays a role in 20-30% of all road collisions.
Since May 2014, regulations have made it an offence to send or read a text message from a mobile phone while driving.
A court case and conviction could see a penalty up to €2,000 - and/or up to three months in prison for a third or subsequent offence within a 12 month period.
Figures from 2010 show as many as one in five drivers regularly use their mobile phone while driving.
A survey among 1,000 drivers found that:
- One in five drivers admitted to using their hand-held mobile phone at least sometimes when driving
- The use of hands-free mobile phones is more common with one in five drivers saying they often or always use their hands-free phone when driving
- One in 10 people say they send text messages while driving
- One in 20 drivers admitted to regularly using their hand-held mobile phone
