A pregnant political activist has appeared in court charged with assaulting a Garda during the Right2Water protest.
Saoirse Bennett and her father Stephen Bennett , who both live at Pearse Green in Sallynoggin in Dublin, were among a group of six protesters arrested yesterday, three of whom were later released without charge.
Miss Bennett was charged with various public order offences and with assaulting a Garda on D'olier Street and damaging two Garda jackets.
Her father was arrested on nearby Birr Quay for allegedly obstructing traffic and blocking a Garda van.
Another protester Barry O'Sullivan with an address at Slí an Canál in Leixlip is charged with blocking a vehicle on O'Connell Bridge.
All three were granted bail and are due back before Dublin District Court on various dates in January.
