The Seanad is resuming its debate on the water services bill after it passed the second stage in the upper house last night.
If opposition senators table amendments to the text, the Dáil could be recalled next week to address them.

Parliamentary correspondent with the Irish Times, Michael O'Regan, says he expects the bill to pass all stages before Christmas.
And he says the fear that the Seanad might reject it has now passed.
