A Waterford man in his 50's has been named as one of those who died in the UK following severe storms over the weekend.
Donal Drohan, formerly of Saint John's Park in Waterford City, was killed when a branch fell on his car in Watford in North London.
Donal had been living in the UK for over 20 years, and worked for the Harrow Council.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
A statement from Donal Drohan's family said: "Donal was a loving husband and father of three. He was the best husband and father anyone could wish for. You couldn't find anyone who had a bad word to say about him. "He was very supportive to everybody who knew him and couldn't say no to helping out with anything. He was an active member of the community who was involved with local groups and had recently helped Team Harrow of The Challenge Network helpingto shape the lives of hundreds of young people within the local community."
Three others are known to have died as a result of the strongest storm to hit Britain in a decade.
Two people were killed by a gas explosion caused by falling trees in Hounslow in south west London.
While 17-year-old Bethany Freeman was killed after the static caravan she was sleeping in was crushed by a tree.
