Met Eireann have issued a weather warning for across the country with temperatures to drop to three or four degrees below freezing in a “bitterly cold and frosty night countrywide”. The warning is in effect until tomorrow afternoon.

There will be frost across the country, with ice in some areas. The northwest can expect “wintry showers” and there will be “some flurries on lower levels here too”, according to Met Eireann. Parts of Ulster and Connacht can expect snow.

Tomorrow will begin with sunshine across most of the country but very cold and frosty.

Cloud and rain will hit in the afternoon in the West, with the rest of the country remaining dry. Temperatures will peak at three to seven degrees.
