Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather warning today with heavy rainfall expected. Up to 25 millimetres of rain may fall in Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan.
While there is also a risk of heavy rain on Saturday night and Sunday for Munster and Leinster, and Munster and Leinster can also expect heavy rain on Saturday night and Sunday, mainly in coastal counties.
Tonight will see showers affecting west Munster, Connacht and west Ulster, with some heavy.
Tomorrow will start off mainly dry in Leinster and east Munster with sunny spells, but there will be Scattered showers elsewhere.
These are forecast to spread eastwards and become more widespread in the afternoon. Some will be heavy and a few possibly thundery.
Saturday night will become dry in many areas, however there is a chance that heavy and persistent rain will develop over coastal counties of Munster and Leinster.
Showers will become widespread across the country on Sunday and some will be heavy, and Met Eireann says there is still a continuing risk of heavy rain over eastern parts of the country.
But we are not the only ones being hit by bad weather - 21 other countires across Europe also have some form of weather warning issued.
